Trans Atlantic 2008 Cruise Maps

The 2008 Trans Atlantic Cruise is going to take us to Rome, Italy, and then
back to Florida.  The first part of the trip will be by air from Tampa to
Atlanta to Amsterdam and finally to Rome.  An overview of Rome is shown
here.  The hotel is located at the letter A in the upper left of the
picture.  Midway down and toward the center is the Vatican (circled in red).
And in the lower right is the ancient part of the city, with the Coliseum
circled in red.

Since Rome is inland, we get on the cruise boat in the coastal city of
Civitavecchia.  From there we cruise up to Livorno, and then on to Cannes,
France, as shown in this picture.

After Cannes, which is close to Monaco, we move on to Barcelona before cruising on to Gibraltar.

After leaving Gibraltar, we head south to Casablanca, which is Dar-el-Beida
in Moroccan.  We continue on to Dakar, Senegal farther down the African
coast.  As we cruise down the coast, we pass by the Canary Islands, to our west.

After leaving Dakar, and after three quiet days at sea, we reach Fortaleza in
Brazil, which is south of the Equator.  From there, we head north to
Devil's Island, off the coast of French Guiana.  During these two days at
sea, we go back across the Equator - our third crossing (two this trip and one
on the Tahiti trip in 2001).  After Devil's Island, we stop on the island
of Dominica in the Leeward Islands, and finally cruise on up to Ft. Lauderdale
to end the trip.

And here is what the whole trip looks like, except for the return home from Ft. Lauderdale.
